Events Capital Of New Zealand

Lake Taupo Events

Taupo is renowned as ‘The Events Capital of New Zealand’ and rightly so! Always a hive of activity, Taupo comes alive each month with sporting events, cultural, community and family festivals plus live concerts.

Located only 5 minutes from the town centre, Lake Taupo Holiday Resort is the perfect base for those attending a local event.

Competing in a cycling event? Rest easy knowing that your bike and equipment is secure in our covered cycle storage, and after the race you can wash your bike down in our cycle cleaning facilities.

Sportspeople, athletes, groups and families participating in an event; whether it’s swimming, racing, walking, golfing or boating will appreciate our incredible thermally heated pool and spa. After a long day competing or having fun!, wind down in our pool and rest those weary muscles. Too tired to cook? We understand. While relaxing in the pool order a refreshment from the swim up bar and order a meal from the cafe.

Taupo is where it’s happening and each year we host the 'International Ironman' - New Zealand’s biggest one day annual event with competitors from 38 different countries - and 'The Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge', with over 11,000 riders completing the 160kms around Great Lake Taupo.

Book with us for convenient, clean accommodation located close to Taupo central and enjoy our fantastic secure facilities.
